Wow... its very safe to say that draft pics get huge dollar amounts before they prove their worth on a professional level. Yet and still franchises in search of the next "Great" or that perfect void filler spend ridiculous amounts of money on rookies.
I guess they way i see it is... in sports its hard to say if that player will produce the way the franchise may need them too. Why give them so much money before you know for certain? Why not put a cap on rookies coming in the league depending on the division? Let their first year be an evaluation period.... if they prove worthy.. then up their pay after that.
